Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a map of the County?
It depends on what kind of map you are looking for. For most people, the interactive mapping website, webMap
, meets their needs. Several pre-made maps are available on the Maps tab of the GIS web page. Time permitting, the GIS Department can also make custom maps for $60/hour, minimum charge $15. Paper copies of D size sheets are $5 each.
How can I get property information on a map?
Property information, including owner names and lot numbers, is available as a layer on webMap. You can use label tools to label owner names, lot numbers, acreage, address numbers and more.
What maps are available for download?
See the Maps tab on the GIS web page. County road maps, assessor maps, zoning maps and more are available in zoom-able, downloadable Adobe Reader *.pdf files. You can also download and save maps created on webMap.
How accurate are the GIS data?
The accuracy of the GIS data varies with each dataset. Some are accurate to within 20 feet, others to within 100 feet. The data should not be relied upon for any purpose except as general guidance. GIS data are in no way survey accurate! In order to get an official, survey accurate map, you must hire a licensed surveyor.
