Human Resources Manager FT - Job Description

Starting Pay:  DOQ, including benefits package

Closing date: Open until filled

This position organizes and directs the County’s human resources systems and services.  Assist all county departments in recruitment and selection, administration of job classification and wage plans, employee development, employee relations, and compliance with employment regulations and guidelines as dictated by federal, state and local laws.  Manages the total rewards program, ensures EEO compliance and acts as the County’s risk manager. 

Candidates must have experience and knowledge in the areas employee relations, workforce planning, risk management, business management & strategy, compensation & benefits, and human resource development.  Candidate must also be able to exercise sound judgment, with clear direction, communicate effectively (verbally and in writing), and work under deadlines, political pressures & tight work schedules.  The ability to analyze a variety of personnel and management problems, make recommendations for their solution, and prepare working procedures is also required.  The ability to counsel all levels of management and employees in effective supervisory and personnel practices, establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments heads, elected officials and other agencies and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality are also essential.

Requirements of the position include a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Management, five or more years' experience in human resources, with a company of 50+ employees, and previous human resources experience in the public sector.  SPHR or PHR preferred but not required. Must also possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Colorado driver’s license.  






Assessor’s Office GIS Mapper FT - Job Description

Starting Pay:  $3,015/month or DOQ

Closing date: Open until filled

Performs a variety of moderately complex clerical and administrative work requiring some exercise of independent judgment; creates and maintains county tax maps using automated software. Provides support to the public and staff in the areas of departmental operations, rules, laws, regulations and procedures on behalf of the Assessor.

Knowledge of cartography, automated mapping projections and/or coordinate geography is required. The ability to read and interpret legal descriptions, maps, plats, surveys, aerial photographs and other GIS related source information also required.  Working knowledge of land law, transfer deeds, property setbacks, easements and encroachments preferred.  A four year college degree which includes course work in the field of geography, geographic information systems and/or land surveying, or an equivalent amount of experience obtained through on-the-job training and education  in the same or related field preferred. A valid driver’s license is required.


Road and Bridge Equipment Operator FT - Job Description

Two positions available
Starting Pay: $3,091/mo; Benefits Package

Performs a variety of duties associated with the operation/repair of road construction and equipment as well as the repair, maintenance and construction of County roads, bridges and right-of-ways. 

Previous experience required in the operation of motor graders, 
dozers, backhoes and trucks.  Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required; flagging certification helpful.  Must be able to perform strenuous manual labor.  Pre-employment and random drug tests mandatory. 


Correctional Officer/Emergency Dispatcher - Tellluride, CO
The San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office, outside Telluride, Colorado, is accepting résumés for the dual position of Correctional Officer/Emergency Dispatcher.
